google labs have said that with this feature "Social Search" will be done on enhanced basis.
It will work like this.. if I search for "Keyword Seatle friends" then all people from that person's friendlist on various portal will be shown.
For this to happen google needs the user to have Open Profile with Google. The Google labs only allow to access this feature to the users with open profile.
